A Different Kentucky County, Not Just a Different Town

Lewisport is in Hancock County, not Daviess County like Owensboro and most of the towns we serve. It’s still Kentucky, so the core rules are the same, but the local authority handling waste and disposal here is genuinely different, not a copy of Daviess County’s system with the name swapped.

Usually next day, sometimes same day depending on our schedule that week.

Do You Deliver to River-Adjacent Properties?

Yes. A good part of Lewisport sits close to the Ohio River, and that doesn’t change delivery or pricing. The city has a documented history of river flooding going back over a century, if a storm or high water leaves debris behind, our Storm Debris Removal service covers that specifically.

Can I Use the Same Landfill as Owensboro?

Not typically. Hancock County has its own disposal system, including the Highway 60 transfer station, rather than routing through Daviess County’s sites.

A Bit of Lewisport History

Lewisport started as a ferry landing called Little Yellow Banks, a nod to Owensboro’s own original name of Yellow Banks. Abraham Lincoln won his first court case here, at the old Pate House, after being accused of running an unlicensed ferry across the river, he was found not guilty. Founded in 1839 and incorporated in 1844, Lewisport later became an industrial town when Murray Tile arrived in 1955, followed by a large aluminum rolling mill in the 1960s. That mill has changed hands several times since and today operates as Commonwealth Rolled Products, one of Hancock County’s largest employers.
